Arian Foster was named the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week after rushing for 114 on 26 carries and catching five passes for 44 yards in Tennessee's 27-8 victory at Kentucky
It was Foster's fifth straight 100+ rushing yardage game. He is the first UT tailback to accomplish that feat in his first five collegiate starts since Chuck Webb in 1989.
For the season, the San Diego, Calif., native ran for 879 yards, the fifth best rushing total by a freshman in UT history. He took over as the starter following Gerald Riggs, Jr., injury against Alabama on Oct. 22.
Other Vols who earned SEC Player of the Week awards include:
Justin Harrell, Defensive Lineman of the Week (Sept. 6)
Rick Clausen, Offensive Player of the Week (Sept. 27)
Arron Sears Offensive Lineman of the Week (Oct. 3)
