University of Tennessee head coach Buzz Peterson announced today that Justin Albrecht has decided to forgo his final season of eligibility. "Justin felt the need to take some time off right now," Peterson said. "He played two seasons at Western Iowa Community College and has been here for two full seasons. Although he could have had one more season to play, he decided that he needed to take a break. After taking a year off, he has every intention of returning to finish his school work." A 6-foot-6 forward from Omaha, Neb., Albrecht averaged 1.8 points and 1.9 rebounds over the course of 28 games in his two-year career at Tennessee. A second team All-Region XI selection at Iowa Western CC, Albrecht battled a foot injury that limited him to just two games in his first season at Tennessee. In 2004 he gained two starting assignments while scoring 46 points in 26 games and was awarded the Team Before Self Award as the best team player.
