Just in time for Christmas, Vol Network Home Entertainment is proud to announce that the 2004 University of Tennessee football season highlights on DVD have arrived at JCPenney stores across the state of Tennessee and are also available online in the Vol Network Store at volnetwork.tv. Tennessee 2004: "The Next Generation" is the video story of the 2004 Tennessee Volunteers football team.
There were numerous question marks about Tennessee's football team heading into 2004. Topping the list of concerns was the quarterback position, where UT didn't have an experienced signal-caller on the roster. Additionally, the defensive secondary had been depleted due to graduation and injury. In the pre-season SEC poll, the Vols were picked to finish third in the SEC East and didn't receive a single first place vote. The 2004 season, however, signaled the next generation of Tennessee Football. Ten true freshmen, including two freshmen quarterbacks, contributed and blended in with a mix of standout seniors and upperclassmen. Despite one of the youngest starting lineups in the SEC, starting three different quarterbacks during the course of the season and sustaining key injuries, the Big Orange shocked most observers by winning the SEC East and earning a berth in the SEC Football Championship Game.
The 2004 season highlights DVD tells the story Tennessee's 11 regular season games with special attention to the Vols thrilling wins over Florida, Georgia, Ole Miss and Alabama as well as highlights from the SEC Championship Game. Included in the video are exclusive locker room speeches by Coach Phillip Fulmer and actual Vol Radio Network play-by-play from the games.
In addition to the main feature, the 2004 DVD is stocked full of exclusive bonus material surrounding the 2004 season. Bonus features include:
- Tennessee highlights from SEC Championship Game versus Auburn
- The "Retro" Phillip Fulmer TV Show shown before the season opening game versus UNLV featuring former "Voice of the Vols" John Ward and former UT head coach Bill Battle.
- Seven player features from the award-winning "Phillip Fulmer TV Show"
- Tributes to Vol Network legends Edwin C. Huster Jr. and Russ Bebb who passed away in 2004.
Tennessee 2004: "The Next Generation" retails for $24.99 and is available now at participating JCPenney stores across the state of Tennessee and online in the Vol Network Store at VOLNETWORK.TV.
