October 7, 2000
Sanford Stadium, Athens, Georgia
With their 21-10 win tonight, Georgia ended Tennessee's nine-game winning streak in the series. The last Georgia victory in the series was a 28-17 win in 1988. The Vols now lead the all-time series 17-11-2.
Tennessee head coach Phillip Fulmer is now 28-13 against ranked teams with a 21-10 loss tonight to No. 19 Georgia. The Vols have won 11 of their last 15 against teams ranked in the Top 25.
The last time Tennessee began 0-3 in the Southeastern Conference was in 1988 when the Volunteers began league play with an 0-4 record and an 0-6 mark overall.
Tennessee sophomore kicker Alex Walls extended his streak of consecutive field goals made to 12 with a 27-yard field goal in the first quarter tonight. On the season Walls is 10-for-10 and 18-for-21 in his career.
Alex Walls made his 21st point after attempt in a row following Travis Stephens' third quarter touchdown. Walls has made 48 of 49 PATs in his career.
Cedrick Wilson moved into sole possession of fourth place on Tennessee's career receptions chart with 3 catches tonight. Wilson now has 126 career receptions. He passed Thomas Woods (1986-89) who finished his career with 124 catches.
Wilson also climbs the career receiving yardage charts. With 54 yards receiving tonight he passed Craig Faulkner (1705 from 1990-93) for eighth on Tennessee's career charts. Wilson now has 1740 yards receiving.

Travis Henry's 58-yard run early in the third quarter that setup a 2-yard touchdown plunge by Travis Stephens was a season-long for Henry. His previous long this season was a 42-yard run against Southern Miss (9/2/00).
Corrie Collier's block of a David Leaverton punt with just under nine minutes left in the third quarter marked the first time that a Tennessee punt has been blocked since Maurice Jackson of Syracuse blocked a UT punt on Sept. 5, 1998.
