VFL Lyubomir Epitropov punched his ticket to a second Summer Games during the European Championships. The Bulgarian threw down a personal-best and national-record time of 2:09.45 to tie for the title, earn a spot in the Summer Games. His other Olympic appearance came in Tokyo, placing 15th in the 200 breast (2:10.33) and 32nd in the 100 breast (1:00.71). Epitropov owns three Bulgarian national swimming records. While on Rocky Top, he earned three All-American honors and won two SEC medals. Epitropov left his mark on the UT swimming program with the top times in program history in the 200 breast and 400 medley relay
Graduated with his bachelor's degree in Kinesiology in May 2023.

- Earned gold in the 200 breast during the 2023 SEC Championships with the fastest time in program history, 1:51.83.
- Took home first place in the 200 breast, posting a time of 1:57.49 against No. 11 Georgia (1/21/23).
- Swam a 1:54.10 to win the 200 breast against Carson-Newman (1/19/23).
- Won the 100 LCM breast (1:01.78) and the 200 LCM breast (2:12.15) in the TYR Pro Swim Series (1/11-14/23).
- During the meet against Missouri (1/7/23), swam the fastest time in the 200 breast, touching the wall in 1:57.65.
- Posted the fastest time in in the 200 breast with a mark of 1:53.18 during the Tennessee Invitational (11/17-20/22) and also had the fourth-best mark time in the 100 breast (52.87); Notched a personal-best in the 200 IM at 1:48.06.
- Took first in the 200 breast against Louisville (10/20/22) with a time of 1:58.85.

- Earned his personal-best finish at NCAAs in the 200 breast, touching the wall with a season-high 1:52.01.
- Helped push the Vols to a 6th-place finish in the 400 medley relay.
- Improved his school record time in the 200 breast with a 1:52.47 mark during the Tennessee Invitational.
- Won five individual races during the season.
- Named SEC Male Swimmer of the Week after finishing first in the 100 breast (54.89) and second in the 200 breast (2:00.55) against Duke and Queens (1/8/22).
- Notched personal-best times in the 100 breast (52.64), 200 breast (1:52.47), and 200 IM (1:48.63) during the Tennessee Invitational (11/18-20/22).
- Placed first in the 200 breast, touching the wall with a time of 1:57.41, and second in the 100 breast at 53.95 against Kentucky (11/5/21).
- Posted the fastest times in the breaststrokes at UNC Wilmington (10/1/2021), touching the wall in 54.96 in the 100 breast and in 1:59.92 in the 200 breast.
2020-21 - JUNIOR

- Competed in two events - the 100 and 200 breaststroke - at the 2021 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships. Placed 16th in the 200 breast, scoring points for UT with a finals time of 1:54.33.
- Won gold in the men's 200 breaststroke with a school-record time of 1:52.69 at SEC.
- Joined the Vols in January after transferring from ECU
- Helped the Vols to a dual meet victory over Kentucky with a first-place finish in the 100 breast and and second-place finish in the 200 breast
2019-20 PRIOR TO TENNESSEE
- Helped ECU win its fourth American Athletic Conference championship
- Captured the bronze medal at The American Championships in the 100 and 200 breaststroke with an NCAA B qualifying time in the 100
- Member of the AAC championship 200 and 400 medley relay teams
- Earned all-conference honors in the 100 and 200 breaststroke as well as the 200 and 400 medley relays
