Cheer Recruitment
Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of the 2026-2027 Tennessee Cheer Team.
Graduating high school seniors (class of 2026) or current UT students/transfer college students interested in being a part of the 2026-2027 Tennessee Cheer Team can expect the following timeline:
Timeline for Tennessee Cheer Recruitment
August 1, 2025: Recruitment registration form LIVEÂ
September – Spring 2026: Evaluation Period
November 1 & November 15, 2025: Potential in-person weekend experience for selected recruitsÂ
April 2026: 2026-2027 team will be announced on social media
We will be accepting video submissions until our new roster is complete. However, we highly recommend submitting your video by September 1 if you would like to be considered for an invite only weekend.
Video submission for the 2026-2027 Tennessee Cheer Recruitment:
In order to be eligible to submit a video for the 2026-2027 Cheer Team, you must have attended a clinic between Fall 2024 – Fall 2025.
Who: Graduating Seniors (class of 2025) or current UT students/transfer college students

Next Steps:
1. Register to be considered for recruitment and included in all recruitment communication (LIVE Aug. 1, 2025)
2. Confirmation email sent to registered recruits.
3. Submit video using link provided in the confirmation email.

Recruitment Video Submissions
Videos do not have to be produced professionally, but your image, introduction, and skills demonstrated should highlight all of your strengths as a student-athlete in a professional manner.
- Videos must be filmed horizontally.
- Please, no music in any of the clips.
- Videos must be current and within the last two months.
- Only one video of each skill is permitted. (We will not watch multiple videos of the same skill.)
- Videos from workshops or clinics are NOT acceptable clips.
Ladies: Black fitted top, black shorts, white bow, high ponytail.
Gentlemen: White T shirt, black shorts.

Video to be produced in this exact order:
Personal Introduction (20 second limit: name, hometown, cheer team/gym, brief description of why you want to be a Tennessee Cheerleader and why you want to attend the University of Tennessee.)
Section 1. Tumbling: (Please add all tumbling skills listed below in the exact order. All skills to be demonstrated on grass or dead floor.)
- Standing back tuck
- BHS back tuckÂ
- Specialty standing pass (2 bhs layout, bhs full, standing full, etc.)
- Round off BHS full (or your best running pass)
- Specialty running pass if applicable through to a full (whips, arabian, full to full)
Section 2. Stunting: Listed below are the stunting requirements.Â
A.   Game Day Stunts (Please add all stunts listed below in the exact order.)
- Toss chair
- Toss hands walk back to shoulders
- Toss extension
- Toss platform lib
- Toss immediate lib
- Toss platform heel stretch
- Full up platform lib
- Toss cupie
- Low to highÂ
- Any variation of full around
B.   Twisting Dismount Stunts (Full down to cradle, double down to cradle, kick full/double down to cradle)
- Heel Stretch/arabesque with twisting dismount
C.    Elite Stunts (Please include 3 – 4 elite stunts. Examples below.)
- Any variation of a rewind
- BHS
- FHS up
- BHS full up
- Front one and a half
- Extended hand in hand pop through to platform lib or cupie
- Hand in hand front pop to platform lib or cupie
D.   Two Part Stunt Sequence (Please include 1 of the following sequences)
- Elite stunt sequence (provide a two-part stunt sequence from the list of elite stunts)
- Game day sequence (provide a two-part sequence from the game day stunt list)
Section 3.  Motions: Tennessee Cheer Motion Drill
The Tennessee Cheer Motion Drill. This will be taught at all clinics and will be sent in a video after you have registered to be considered for recruitment. You must count the motion drill out loud as you perform.  Â
