Vol Profile: Mario Toledo
Vol Profile: Did anything particular have an influence on your decision to come to the University of Tennessee?
Toledo: "I didn't really have a particular influence. I think I decided to come to UT because I liked the tradition here and I thought this was the best place for me after junior college."
Vol Profile: Now that you are here, what are your favorite things about UT?
Toledo: "Probably the tennis facility and Neyland Stadium. Football is a big tradition here and I think that's a big reason why I decided to come here because I am a big college football fan. It's great going to the games on Saturday."
Vol Profile: Do you have any expectations or goals you have set for yourself this year?
Toledo: "I think the expectations are to get to the National Championship finals like we did last year. As for individual goals, I want to try to be an All- American."
Vol Profile: Do you have a favorite or most memorable moment on the court?
Toledo: "I think my favorite moment would have to be our win over Stanford at the NCAA championships, it was our first win over Stanford in a team championship. That was probably one of my best moments."
Vol Profile: Do you have any outside interests or hobbies?
Toledo: "I like to play basically any other sport except soccer in my free time."
Vol Profile: Do you have any type of mental preparation you go through before a match?
Toledo: "I just try to get ready for the match by eating well the day before and hydrating myself before a match."
Vol Profile: Do you have a hero or role model you try and mold yourself after?
Toledo: "I mainly look up to my parents because they introduced to the sport of tennis. My dad was my coach when I was younger so that was my main influence growing up."
Vol Profile: After you graduate, what would you like to be remembered for?
Toledo: "After I graduate, I think my individual goals are that I want to be an All- American and I want to have my picture up on the wall at the UT Tennis Complex and I want to be part of bringing the first NCAA Tennis Championship to Tennessee."
