BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Southeastern Conference announced Thursday that Tennessee student-athletes Allison Buemi (women's track & field/cross country) and Nick Stone (men's diving) were selected as 2025-26 Brad Davis Community Service Award Winners.
Award recipients for each of the SEC's 16 member institutions are nominees for the Male and Female Brad Davis Community Service Leaders of the Year which will be announced in May. Buemi and Stone will each receive a $7,500 post-graduate scholarship provided by the SEC.
The SEC Community Service Post-Graduate Scholarship is named for former Associate Commissioner Brad Davis. Davis succumbed to cancer on March 2, 2006. He had been a member of the SEC staff since 1988, first serving as an assistant commissioner until 1994 when he was promoted to associate commissioner.
Buemi has distinguished herself through an extensive commitment to community service and academic excellence during her time at Tennessee. A kinesiology major set to graduate in May with plans to pursue a graduate degree in physical therapy, Buemi has earned recognition as a five-time SEC Academic Honor Roll selection and six-time University of Tennessee Dean's List honoree.
In the community, Buemi has devoted more than 60 hours of service through the Leadership Knoxville Scholars Capstone, working with the Little Chefs, Big Change program to teach young students cooking skills and nutrition education. She has also been an active volunteer with the Run Your City Knoxville chapter, leading running and mentorship activities for K–8 students, and has contributed to VOLoween, Tennessee's annual Halloween event for staff families.
Additionally, Buemi has logged over 400 hours of professional experience through internships with D1 Physical Therapy and Plano Orthopedic and Sports Medicine, serving as both a physical therapy technician and medical assistant. Her leadership development includes participation in the 2024–25 VOLeaders Academy cohort, which culminated in a cultural immersion service trip to Brazil in summer 2025.
Stone has been involved in multiple charitable endeavors at Tennessee. Stone was a member of the 2024 VOLeaders Academy, a program aimed to insoire student-athletes to use their influence and passion for sport to help enact change that transcends their athletic achievement. He went on their trip to South Africa and Botswana, where student-athletes get the opportunity to experience the culture and engage in sports-based community initiatives. On the trip, Nick and other student-athletes worked with many programs in the countries, including Egoli Youth Development, Panarama Football Club, Ithembelihle School, Elite Basketball Academy, Women and Sport Botswana.
Stone has also worked with multiple organizations in the Knoxville area. In addition to working with Knox Area Rescue Ministries (KARM), Stone has also worked with the organization Project LIVE. Project LIVE is an organization that provides services to adults 60 and older to help them remain in their homes and continue to live independently. He has also volunteered his time to local schools in the Knoxville community, including Annoor Academy and New Hopewell Community School.
Stone also serves on Tennessee Student Athlete Advisory Committee where he is a Co-President. He is a three-time SEC Academic Honor Roll selection pursuing a degree in sport management. Stone was one of two Tennessee swimmers named to the SEC Community Service Team in February, recognizing athletes who give back through outstanding service efforts.
The senior diver posted a pair of top-10 finishes at the 2026 SEC Championships, including a fifth place showing in the platform event. He garnered multiple accolades in his first season on Rocky Top, including being named the 2023 SEC Freshman Diver of the Year after scoring in all three diving events. Stone also owns a top-10 mark in program history, with his platform score of 397.90 ranking seventh all-time.
