Siroky Silver Medal Leads Stacked Day Two at NCAA Championships

ATLANTA --Â McKenzie Siroky took center stage for Tennessee, with the sophomore delivering a national runner-up performance in the 100 Breast to lead day two at the NCAA Women's Swimming & Diving Championships. Thursday featured six podium finishes and seven All-America results for the Lady Vols.

Siroky followed a personal best swim in the morning session with another brilliant outing in the championship final. This marks the fourth consecutive year that a Lady Vol swimmer has taken second in the 100 Breast, with LVFL Mona McSharry did so from 2023-25. Siroky touched the wall with a time of 57.00, tying with Florida's Anita Bottazzo. Siroky finished just .60 seconds off first place in the contest. In prelims, Siroky set a new personal best in the 100 Breast with a 56.93, improving her second-best mark in program history

Ella Jansen continued her strong form in the 400 IM. The sophomore placed fourth in the event in the championship final, earning her first individual First Team All-America honors. This is the second consecutive top 10 finish in the 400 IM, after placing Jansen broke the program record in the 400 IM with a time of 3:59.59, dethroning the previous record holder Ellen Walshe, who was also the last Lady Vol to earn First Team All-America designation in the event.

Desharne Bent-Ashmeil earned her way to finals in the 1-meter, putting together a phenomenal program that saw her take fifth overall. Bent-Ashmeil becomes the first Lady Vol to earn All-America honors in the 1-meter since Grace Cable in 2020. The fifth place result for Bent-Ashmeil marked the best finish in the 1-meter for Tennessee since Jodie McGroarty took third back in 2013.

Camille Spink got her individual competition underway in the 200 Free, touching the wall sixth with a time of 1:41.72. The two-time SEC champ in the 200 Free earned her first All-America designation in the 200 Free and her second of this NCAAs

The 200 Medley Relay added the third Lady Vol relay top eight finish of the week, coming sixth with a time of 1:26.25. The team of Spink, Julianna Bocska, Jillian Crooks, and Emily Armen battled for first team status, while setting the second-best time in the event in program history.

In her first individual swim at NCAAs, Mizuki Hirai finished seventh overall in the 100 Fly with a time of 50.56. The freshman earned her first individual All-America honors of her collegiate career, and her second All-America honor of the week in her first NCAA Championships.

Emily Brown just missed out on a trip to the championship final in the 400 IM, finishing in ninth place with a 4:04.09 to earn Second Team All-America status. Simone Moll came up just short of All-America honors in the 100 Breast, placing 19th in the event with a 59.09.
