Ford Earns Spot on Baseball America College Team of the Week

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee's Henry Ford was named to the Baseball America Week 5 College Team of the Week on Tuesday following another productive week at the plate.
The junior third baseman led the Vols with three home runs, 10 RBIs and 16 total bases over four games last week, including a three-RBI outing in UT's series-opening road win at No. 6/8 Georgia on Friday night in Athens.
Two of Ford's three homers for the week game against the Bulldogs, as he went deep in Friday's SEC opener and again on Sunday. He was also perfect defensively at third base, posting a 1.000 fielding percentage on nine chances for the week.
Entering this week, Ford leads the team in OPS (1.084), runs (19), hits (30), homers (8), RBIs (25), total bases (58) and slugging percentage (.682). His 30 hits are tied for seventh in the SEC. The Virginia transfer has a hit in 12 of his last 14 games entering this week and has driven in runs in nine of his last 12 contests.
Ford and the Vols host Eastern Kentucky at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday in the first of four home games this week. Tennessee takes on Missouri for their first SEC home series this weekend.
