AURORA, Ontario – Tennessee women's golfer Madison Messimer sits tied for third individually after one round at the Canadian Collegiate Invitational after shooting 3-under in the first round.

The rookie's round-one 69 marks her first career under-par showing. Messimer enters round two three shots back of the lead.

As a team, the Lady Vols shot 13-over in the first round and are in sixth place ahead of Tuesday's second and final round. The tournament was initially set to be 54 holes but was shortened to 36 holes due to a weather delay Monday morning.

Martina Lopez-Lanchares and Sofie Engeseth each carded a 77 in round one and are tied for 37th going into day two. Lopez-Lanchares, who is making her season debut, played the back side at even par.

Sophomore Kyra Van Kan posted a 78 on Monday and is in 46th going into the final 18 holes of play.

The final member of UT's lineup, Thitikarn Thapasit, logged a 79 and currently sits in 51st place.
