June 05, 2025 | Men's Tennis
Anas Bennour Dit Sahli, the No. 1-ranked junior player from Tunisia, has signed with the Tennessee men's tennis team and will be a member of the squad for the 2025-26 season, head coach Chris Woodruff announced Thursday.
Â
"I really enjoyed getting to know Anas throughout the recruiting process," associate head coach Matt Lucas said. "He has had an outstanding junior career and proven to be one of the best juniors in the world.
Â
"He's ranked top two in Africa and has ATP points in singles and doubles. We know he will be a great addition to the young nucleus we have added, and we look forward to developing and helping these young players on their journey to professional tennis."
Â
Bennour Dit Sahli, who has a 12.60 UTR, carved out a career-best ranking of 171 in the ITF Junior Rankings and a career-high ATP rating of 1407 in singles and 1552 in doubles.
Â
In juniors, his career won-lost record stands at 48-26, with a 15-5 mark in 2024. The five-time Tunisian champion also claimed a U14 title and a U16 runner-up finish for all of Africa and represented his country at the U16 World Cup. Among his seven singles and seven doubles titles, he recorded five ITF J30 victories in singles and four wins in doubles at those tournaments.
Â
Bennour Dit Sahli joins Shion Itsusaki (Osaka, Japan), Ethan Muza (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baylor), Piotr Siekanowicz (Wroclaw, Poland/Delaware) and Boruch Skierkier (Clorinda, Argentina/Valdosta State) in the 2025 signing class.
