KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee volleyball added All-Big 12 outside hitter Brynn Williams to the roster ahead of the 2025 campaign.
Â
"We feel really fortunate to add a player of Brynn's experience and athleticism to our roster," head coach Eve Rackham Watt said. "She has big goals and wants to compete for a championship this fall. Brynn is a natural leader, extremely vocal and someone who is used to carrying a heavy load. I am looking forward to watching her develop in our program."
Â
During the 2024 campaign, Williams garnered All-Big 12 Second Team honors after posting 307 kills, 163 digs and 43 blocks for Texas Tech. It was her second straight season of eclipsing 300 kills, with her 3.10 kills per set marking a career best. She owns three 20-kill performances and 15 double-double efforts.
Â
The Mansfield, Texas, native boasts 48 starts throughout her first three seasons of college volleyball, tallying 636 kills, 421 digs, 92 blocks and 20 aces. Williams netted double-digit kills in 30 contests since the start of her sophomore campaign in 2023, including an 11-match streak heading into 2025. This past season, she posted a career-best 23 kills during Texas Tech's season finale against Arizona.
Â
More than just an offensive threat, Williams eclipsed 40 or more blocks during each of the last two seasons, and in 2023, she finished with a personal-best 245 digs while solidifying the Red Raider back row defense. She notched double-digit digs in 19 matches and has twice recorded 20 digs in a contest.
Â
Prior to arriving in Lubbock, Williams was a standout for Mansfield High School, where she earned All-State, First Team All-District and District MVP honors during her career. She finished with more than 1,250 kills for her prep career, including 575 as a senior in 2021. She was recognized on the Top 150 of 2022 Prep Volleyball and Prep Dig Top 200 of 2022 rankings.
Â
Williams joins a trio of other transfer additions this offseason. The Lady Vols bolstered their roster with senior libero Gülce Güçtekin (pronounced GOOL-jay GOOCH-tek-in), redshirt freshman middle blocker Zoë Humphrey and redshirt senior outside/opposite hitter Starr Williams.
