Spearman, Burdick To Team Up At USA 3X Nationals
May 01, 2025 | Women's Basketball
After taking part in the USA Basketball 3X Development Camp in Phoenix earlier this week, Lady Vol rising junior Zee Spearman and LVFL Cierra Burdick will team up this weekend at the 2025 USA Basketball 3X Nationals at Arizona Athletic Grounds (AAG) in Mesa, Arizona.Â
The event, which runs Friday through Sunday, will feature 16 women's teams, including some of the best 3x3 players in the country, vying for national titles. Spearman and Burdick will play for a team called Chaos, joining LSU's MiLaysia Fulwiley and Maryland's Christina Dalce.
"We are excited to partner with Arizona Athletic Grounds to host the USA Basketball 3X Nationals," said Jim Tooley, USA Basketball CEO. "With the Olympic Games Los Angeles 2028 on the horizon, we are looking forward to welcoming 3x3 players, both veterans and those new to the game, to Mesa to compete in this exciting event that features a unique style of basketball."
Chaos opens preliminary round action in Pool D at 10:10 p.m. ET on Friday vs. 3XBA and competes twice on Saturday, including at 3:25 p.m. vs. Stephen F. Austin University and at 8:15 p.m. vs. the University of Florida. Teams will be seeded based on preliminary records before entering bracket play on Sunday. Games will stream live on Friday, Saturday and Sunday on X (formerly Twitter) and YouTube.com/USABasketball.
3X Nationals is free and open to the public. To ensure a great experience for all fans, free tickets can be reserved here.
An impressive lineup of teams is expected to take the halfcourt in Mesa, including NCAA Division I women's programs Fairfield University, University of Florida, James Madison University, Oklahoma State University, University of Richmond, University of South Carolina, South Dakota State University, Stephen F. Austin State University, TCU and Vanderbilt University in addition to 3x3 pro team 3XBA and independent teams Chaos, Phoenix, Rise, United and Valley Heat.
The full schedule, list of teams and rosters will be updated here.
3X Nationals will serve as an evaluation for selection to various future USA Basketball 3x3 national teams, including the 2025 FIBA 3x3 World Cup, set for June 23-29 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, and roster spots for USA Basketball 3x3 World Tour, 3x3 Women's Series, 3x3 U23 Nations League and 3x3 U23 World Cup teams.
Played on a half court with a 10-minute clock and a 12-second shot clock, the first team to 21 points, or the team in the lead at the end of regulation, is the winner.Â
A 6-foot-4 forward from Dacula, Ga., Spearman recently completed her first season at Tennessee, averaging 11.7 points and 6.0 rebounds per game to rank third and first on the team, respectively, in those categories. The rising senior also led the Big Orange in field goal percentage at 51.5 and hit a career-most 24 three-pointers after making only one in her two previous collegiate seasons prior to arriving on Rocky Top.
After tying for second on the team with 23 double-figure scoring efforts in 2024-25 and finishing fourth with 10 games of 15+, Spearman has earned her second invite by USA Basketball. She previously took part in the 2022 U18 National Team Trials.
Burdick, meanwhile, is a veteran of USA Basketball 3x3 teams, helping her country to a bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. Additionally, the 6-2 forward from Charlotte, N.C., has won gold with U.S. 3x3 squads at the 2023 Pan American Games and the 2023 and 2014 FIBA 3x3 World Cups as well as with 5-on-5 teams at the 2011 FIBA U19 World Cup, 2010 FIBA U17 World Cup and 2009 FIBA Americas U16 Championship.
Burdick competed at Tennessee from 2011-15, earning AP All-America honorable mention, NCAA Spokane Regional All-Tournament, Coaches All-SEC First Team, AP All-SEC Second Team and 2015 SEC All-Tournament as a senior in 2015. The 2015 UT Torchbearer scored 1,072 points during her career and is one of 50 Lady Vols all-time to surpass 1K in scoring.
