Doubles Play Highlights Day Two of the June Stewart Invitational

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Doubles play highlighted day two of the June Stewart Invitational for the Tennessee women's tennis team on Saturday.
The Lady Vols opened the day with a pair of singles wins against Vanderbilt. Sophomore Carly Briggs collected the first solo victory over Commodore Emma Kurtz 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 to earn her season-long fourth-straight win.
In three-set matches, Briggs is 3-0 on the season and 5-0 throughout her career.
Senior Johanna Silva battled for a 6-2, 7-6 (5) victory over Vanderbilt's Anessa Lee to close out singles play for the Lady Vols.
In doubles play, UT earned two-of-three wins over Auburn.
The pair of Silva and junior Rebeka Mertena were off court first, authoring a 6-3 victory over Tigers Shir Azran and Yu Chen.
Junior Daria Kuczer and Briggs earned the final win of the day. The duo downed Selin Ovunc and Carolyn Ansari 6-4 for their fifth win as a pair this season.
The Lady Vols conclude the final day of the June Stewart Invitational tomorrow beginning at 10 a.m. ET.
