Cathedral City, Calif. -- No. 11 Tennessee continued its dominant start to the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic with a 7-0 shutout win over UC Davis on Saturday.

For the third straight game, the Lady Vols (13-1) got on the board in the first inning. After Meghan Gregg flew out to advance runners to second and third, a Chelsea Seggern single to left field scored Leach to put UT ahead, 1-0. Scarlet McSwain then hit a sacrifice fly to bring in Jenna Holcomb and give Tennessee an early two-run advantage.

In the second inning, the Lady Vols were able to load the bases with one out. With Holcomb at bat, a wild pitch scored pinch runner Brooke Langston to make it 3-0.

UT added two more runs in the third frame to give itself a commanding 5-0 edge. McSwain led things off with a single, and after advancing to third by way of a sacrifice bunt and wild pitch, scored on a CJ McClain single to left center. Aubrey Leach followed up with a single of her own which brought home Abby Lockman. An Ashley Morgan single in the fourth inning scored allowed pinch runner Treasury Poindexter to score and increase the Lady Vols lead to six.

Tennessee got to seven in the next inning with a double by freshman Amanda Ayala to bring in Seggern.

Matty Moss improved to 7-1 on the season with the credited win. Moss went three innings with two strikeouts, while Caylan Arnold struck out six in four innings of relief.
