The Vols improved to 20-2 in non-conference games this season with a dominant 9-2 victory over No. 25 North Carolina on Wednesday night. UT resumes SEC play with this weekend's series against the Rebels and will look to improve on its 9-1 home record.
The 1,000 Club
Tennessee co-head coach Karen Weekly became the 33rd head coach in NCAA Division I history to win 1,000 games in her career when the Vols defeated North Carolina on Wednesday night. Weekly joined Ralph Weekly as the only husband and wife duo to both have 1,000 or more career victories.
No Place Like Home
After a week-long road trip last week, Tennessee is in the midst of a 10-game homestand over the next two and half weeks. The Vols are is 9-1 at home this season and have outscored their opponents 70-27 in those 10 games.
The Big Orange were one of the top teams in the nation when playing at home last season, posting an NCAA best 22-1 record at Lee Stadium in the regular season, including an 11-0 mark in SEC play. Tennessee outscored its opponents 225-63 and won 16 of their 24 total home games last season by run rule.
Super Seggern
Freshman third baseman Chelsea Seggern is quickly evolving into one of UT's top players. The Thrall, Texas native has started all 28 games this season and ranks third on the team with 21 RBIs. Her eight doubles are tied for fifth most in the SEC and she also had recorded a pair of game-winning hits. Over the past 11 games, Seggern is batting .438 and leads the team with six extra-base hits to go along with 11 RBIs. She hit her first-career triple, homered and tied career highs with three RBIs and two runs in Wednesday's win over the Tar Heels.
Scouting Report
No. 23/RV Ole Miss Rebels (22-6, 0-3 SEC)
After posting a program-record 41 wins last season, the Rebels are off to a strong start in 2017 despite being one of the youngest teams in the country. Ole Miss ranks among the top-25 nationally in four offensive categories, batting average (.351), on-base percentage (.439), slugging percentage (.502) and steals per game (2.25).
Junior outfielder Elantra Cox ranks second in the SEC with a .511 batting average and leads the Rebels with 30 runs and 47 hits. Freshman Morgan Bruce leads the pitching staff with a 7-1 record and 1.77 ERA in 47.1 innings pitched.
UT's All-Time Record vs. Ole Miss: 44-8
Tennessee has beaten Ole Miss more than any other program and have won 16 of the past 17 meetings in the series. The Vols are 22-1 all-time against the Rebels at home, with the only loss coming on April 16, 2008.

Fan Information/Stadium Policies
Please be advised that the university's clear bag policy for all of its athletic venues will be in effect for the Tennessee Invitational and every other home game this season. In order to enhance safety and expedite fan entry at Tennessee athletic events, the university is implementing new safety policies for fans bringing bags into all athletic venues.
Only one clear plastic bag no larger than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches or a one-gallon, clear, resealable plastic storage bag per person will be permitted. Fans will also be allowed a small clutch purse not to exceed 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches. Fans interested in purchasing an approved clear bag may visit the Official Team Store at Neyland Stadium, VolShop locations in the Student Union, 17th & Cumberland Avenue and University Commons; as well as other area retailers.
