INDIANAPOLIS -- Tennessee is back at the IU Natatorium this week for the NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships.
The men's meet runs Wednesday through Saturday. Tonight's session includes just one event, the 800-yard freestyle relay, at 6 p.m. The first full day of the championships is Thursday at 10 a.m.
The Vols invited to the meet in individual events include: juniors Ryan Coetzee, David Heron, Sam McHugh, Peter John Stevens and Liam Stone, sophomore Kyle DeCoursey and freshmen Taylor Abbott and Marc Hinawi. All five of Tennessee's relay teams will also compete.
Last year, Tennessee had its best performance at the NCAA championships in 15 years, placing seventh behind strong performances by seniors Sean Lehane and Mauricio Robles, a 1-meter championship by Stone and a silver medal performance in the 100 breaststroke.
Stone will look to defend his title in a field loaded with Olympians. The junior diver is coming off an record-setting win in the event at the SEC championships last month.
DeCoursey, a native of Zionsville, Indiana, looks to follow up on his breakout SEC performance where he was a bronze medalist in the 100 freestyle. He is seeded eighth in the 100 freestyle and 14th in the 50 freestyle, the top entry of the Vol swimmers.
