Softball Meet & Greet Set for Feb. 4

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee softball has announced the date for its 2017 Meet and Greet for fans. The seventh annual Meet and Greet will take place at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium on Saturday, Feb. 4.

- Open Batting Cages: 2:30 – 3:30
- Facility Tours: 2:30 – 3:30
- Kids Carnival: 2:30 – 3:30
- Check Seat Locations/Purchase Tickets: 2:30 – 3:30
- Team Intros (Section F of Bleachers): 3:30 – 3:45
- Player Autographs (Batting Cages): 3:45 – 4:30
The event will run from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and will include a wide array of activities for fans to enjoy. Meet and Greet elements will include players giving tours of the complex, a kids carnival, open batting cages and the ability to discuss season ticket locations with the ticket office. The kids carnival will feature face painting, poster making, chalk art and inflatables.
During the second hour, Vols’ co-head coaches Ralph Weekly and Karen Weekly will address the fans and introduce this year’s team followed by an autograph session with the players.
Ticket office representatives will be available to assist fans from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Fans can purchase new season tickets or review their current season ticket location.
Tennessee softball will also be in attendance at the women’s basketball game on Feb. 2 when the Lady Vols host LSU at 7 p.m. The team will be greeting fans at the entrances of Thompson-Boling Arena prior to tip-off. The players and coaches will also be introduced to the crowd at halftime.
The Vols are coming off a 43-16 season where they reached their 13th consecutive NCAA regional and hosted a regional for the 12th straight year. UT returns 14 players from last season’s team including All-SEC first team selection Meghan Gregg as well as Matty Moss, Brooke Vines and Aubrey Leach, all of whom were named to the SEC All-Freshmen team last year. The Big Orange also welcome 10 exciting newcomers to this year’s team.
Tennessee kicks off its 2017 season with a doubleheader against Tennessee Tech and Middle Tennessee on Feb. 10 at the Eagle Round Robin in Statesboro, Ga. The Vols’ home opener is slated for March 2 when kick off the Tennessee Invitational with a doubleheader against Southeastern Louisiana and Ohio at Lee Stadium. UT opens SEC play at home against South Carolina from March 10-12.
