KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- No. 16 Tennessee tied a program record with two grand slams in a 10-0 run-rule victory over UAB in Game 1 of Friday's doubleheader at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium.

Abby Lockman and Scarlet McSwain both went deep with the bases loaded to break the game open early for the Vols. It was only the second time in program history that UT has hit multiple grand slams in the same game with the only other occasion coming on Feb. 8, 2013 when Raven Chavanne and Kat Dotson accomplished the feat in a 14-2 victory over Idaho State.

UT jumped all over UAB early with six runs in the bottom of the first inning. Megan Geer got the scoring started with an RBI groundout to score Brooke Vines before Gretchen Aucoin singled home Meghan Gregg. Later in the inning, freshman Lockman got the fans out of their seats with her first-career grand slam to give the Vols an early 6-0 lead.

Tennessee added to its lead in the third thanks to its second grand slam, this time courtesy of Scarlet McSwain, to increase the lead to 10.

The Big Orange held the Blazers scoreless over the final two innings to earn their sixth run-rule victory of the season. Aucoin also had a solid day at the plate, going 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Freshman Matty Moss got the start in the circle and pitched four scoreless innings to improve her record to 4-1 on the year.

UT hosts Green Bay for the second leg of today's doubleheader at 5:30 p.m. The game will be streamed live on SEC Network +/WatchESPN.
