Pros Update: Godley, Stewart Continue Streaks

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee Baseball has 21 former players in professional baseball representing the Orange and White with Major League organizations this season. VFL Zack Godley continues to impress with the Arizona Diamondbacks, as he improved to 3-0 to begin his big league career. In the Minor Leagues, Christin Stewart and Matt Duffy continue their recent hot streaks, while Scott Price makes huge strides in his comeback from the Disabled List.
MAJOR LEAGUES
R.A. Dickey - SP, Toronto Blue Jays
Season: 6-10, 4.06 ERA, 22 G, 144.0 IP, 130 H, 69 R, 65 ER, 49 BB, 90 K
Dickey started two games this week (July 29 - August 4) for the Toronto Blue Jays and won each of his starts to improve to 6-10 on the season. This week, he allowed no earned runs over 15.0 combined innings pitched and fanned 10 batters, facing Philadelphia and Kansas City. Over his last seven games, Dickey is now 3-3 with a 2.44 ERA and continues to lead the Blue Jays' club in most innings pitched this season (144.0).

Godley started one game this week (July 29 - August 4) for the Arizona Diamondbacks, claiming his first third straight Major League win. He tossed 7.0 scoreless innings in his start on August 3 against the Nationals, striking out six batters in 6.0 innings of work. After collecting the win, Godley became the second Diamondbacks pitcher to win his first three career starts over the last two seasons and is now the first of 28 former Vol pitchers to make it to the Majors and start his career at 3-0 (Source: Voice of Tennessee Baseball John Wilkerson).
Yan Gomes - C, Cleveland Indians
Season: .222, 54 G, 18 R, 45 H, 10 2B, 0 3B, 6 HR, 20 RBI
Gomes appeared in six games this week (July 29 - August 4) for Cleveland, including a three-game series visiting the Oakland Athletics. This week, Gomes busted two home runs to bring his season total to six, including a solo shot on July 29 and a 440-foot, two-run homer on August 3 against Washington, marking the longest homer of his MLB career.
Chase Headley - 3B, New York Yankees
Season: .278, 100 G, 56 R, 107 H, 18 2B, 1 3B, 9 HR, 44 RBI
Headley appeared in six games this week (July 29 - August 4) for the New York Yankees, including three multi-hit performances. On July 31, he went 2-for-4 with one RBI and was 2-for-3 with a double in his start on August 2 against the White Sox. Over his last seven games, Headley is 11-for-27 (.407) with five RBI.
Luke Hochevar - P, Kansas City Royals

Hochevar made four relief appearances for the Kansas City Royals this week (July 29 - August 4). Only July 29 against Cleveland, Hochevar's 13.2 scoreless innings streak (dating back to June 23) was snapped after he surrendered four runs on six hits in 2.0 innings, including a two-run homer to fellow VFL Yan Gomes.

Borbon appeared in five games (July 29 - August 4) for the Norfolk Tides this week. His best game came on July 31, when he went 3-for-5 with one RBI and two runs scored against Lehigh Valley. He followed up with a 2-for-4 night on August 1 to improve his average to .267 on the season.
Matt Duffy - 3B, Fresno Grizzlies (AAA - Houston Astros)
Season: .299, 99 G, 71 R, 115 H, 24 2B, 1 3B, 15 HR, 79 RBI
Duffy played in seven games this week (July 29 - August 4) for the Fresno Grizzlies. Entering his August 4 matchup against Albuquerque, he held a 15-game hit streak, including multiple hits in his last four straight games. He leads the Grizzlies with 71 runs scored and 24 doubles on the season.

On August 4, the righthander threw 3.0 innings of relief against Bradenton to get the first save of his minor league career.
