POSTGAME NOTES
THE SERIES
- This is the first meeting between the two programs.
- Boise State marks the first team that the Lady Vols have faced from Idaho.
- Tennessee now has a 1-0 record in the series with the Broncos.
- UT has is 3-0 vs. current teams in the Mountain West Conference.
- This season, the Lady Vols are 19-1 vs. unranked teams having only lost to Chattanooga. UTC lost in the first game of the day vs. Pitt.
- The Lady Vols have a 1,275-284 all-time record in its 70th season,
- Under Holly Warlick, the Lady Vols are 6-2 in NCAA tourney play.
IN THE NCAA TOURNEY
- The Lady Vols are marking their 34th appearance in the NCAA Women's Basketball Championship and is the only program to appear in all 34 tournaments.
- Tennessee is 118-25 all-time in NCAA tournament play.
- UT is 53-1 record in the first two rounds of the tournament.
- The Lady Vols are 27-1 all-time in the NCAA First Round.
- Tennessee is 43-0 at home in NCAA First/Second Round play.
- This is the third-straight season, fifth time in six years, that UT has hosted the first and second rounds.
- UT is now 55-0 all-time in home NCAA games.
SUCCESS AT HOME
- The Lady Vols are 17-0 at home this season and have won 21 in a row in Thompson-Boling Arena, dating back to Feb. 20, 2014 in a win vs. Auburn.
- UT is purusing its first undefeated home season since 2010-11 (17-0).
- With the win over Boise State, the Lady Vols tie for the most wins at Thompson-Boling Arena (17).
- The 17 home wins also tie for most in a season ever at home with the 17-1 they had in 1978-79 in Stokely Athletics Center.
- With a second round win, 18 home wins would be the most ever by the team at the arena and a school record.
FOR STARTERS
- Today's starters: Bashaara Graves, Cierra Burdick, Jordan Reynolds, Andraya Carter and Ariel Massengale.
- Entering the game, this unit has played a combined 32 NCAA Tournament games.
- Not one single Lady Vol has started every game this season. Reynolds has started in all but one game.
- With this group, Tennessee is 5-2.
- The jump ball was controlled by Tennessee.
- The first Tennessee points were scored by Bashaara Graves on a jumper.
OFF THE BENCH
- Jaime Nared was one of the first Lady Vols off the bench for her third straight game. It marked her 11th time being the first off the bench.
- Nia Moore ccame into the game with under 14 minutes to play in the first half.
- Alexa Middleton was the third Lady Vol to make an appearance. She entered with 13:23 left in the game.
OFFENSIVELY SPEAKING
- Two Lady Vols scored in double digits: Bashaara Graves and Ariel Massengale.
- Graves scored the first eight points of the game despite a slow scoring start for the team. She had 10 of the first 14 points.
- Graves earned a personal NCAA-high and season-high 24 points on 9-for-11 shooting. She scored 14 points combined in all three games of the NCAA tourney last season.
- During the SEC tournament, Massengale was 1-for-11 from beyond the arc. Tonight, she was 3-for-9. She is just one three-point shot away from moving into the top-10 for three-pointers made in a season.
- Massengale also tallied a personal NCAA-high with 18 points.
REBOUNDING WINS GAMES
- Freshman Jaime Nared grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds. Six of those were on the offensive end.
- Cierra Burdick added 11 rebounds.
- The Lady Vols outrebounded the Broncos, 46-28.
- In 33 games, the Lady Vols have a 41.9 to 33.9 rebounding ratio for a margin of +8.0.
AT THE HALF
- The Lady Vols led the Broncos 39-32, ending the half on a 9-2 run.
- Tennessee shot 48.5 percent (16-33) while Boise State was shooting a better 50.0 percent (13-26).
- Tennessee outrebounded BSU, 20-11.
- BSU's Brooke Pahukoa led all scorers with 18 points on 7-for-7 shooting.
