COLLEGE STATION, Texas--Tennessee Swimming and Diving hit the road for SEC action for the first time this season with a pair of double dual meets at the Student Recreation Center Natatorium in College Station Thursday. Seniors Tristan Slater and Molly Hannis swept all four breaststroke events for Tennessee, while Sam McHugh won a trio of events. Mauricio Robles and newcomer Liam Stone led the way in the diving well.
UT won three of the four dual meets, with the No. 15 men (5-4, 2-1 SEC) sweeping A&M (184-115) and Missouri State (210-89), while the No. 11 women (5-3-1, 1-1-1 SEC) splitting their two meets--falling to the No. 4 Aggies (177.50-110.50) and defeating Southern Methodist (204-83).
The Big Orange heads east for the second half of their two-meet SEC trip and will arrive in Baton Rouge for a Saturday afternoon dual meet against the Tigers of Louisiana State University.
Inside the Men's Scoring
The men's team won 11 events in their double dual meet with Texas A&M and Missouri State, defeating the Aggies and Bears to bring their record over the .500 mark.
The top two 200 Medley Relay teams started the afternoon on a positive note for the Vols. The B team of Jimmy Dagley, Tristan Slater, Jacob Thulin and Troy Tillman won the opening event in 1:29.34, while the A team of Sean Lehane, Ross Dibblin, Gustav Aberg Ledjstrom and Chris Sadsad earned second place in 1:29.59. Tennessee's C team (Tim Wylie, Sam McHugh, Joshua Romany and Ryan Coetzee) finished in sixth place.
Slater followed his relay leg by earning a pair of victories in the two breaststroke events. His 55.36 time in the 100 Breast nearly matched his career-best time set at November's Nike Cup, while his 1:59.47 time in the 200 Breast is his second-fastest time in the event this season.
Fellow Brit Ross Dibblin earned a pair of top-three finishes in both breaststroke events, finishing second behind Slater in the 100 (55.97) and third in the 200 (2:04.39).
McHugh, meanwhile, finished with wins in the 200 Fly, 200 Back and 200 IM, increasing his win total to 15 so far this season. McHugh (1:46.30) and Aberg Ledjstrom (1:51.38) swept the top-two spots in the 200 Fly, joined by Tyler Mills (1:53.27) and Evan Pinion (1:56.01).

Miller earned his first victory of the season by winning in a season-best 9:21.76, while Leland earned his highest finish since the season-opening meet at UNCW by clocking in at 9:27.98, also a new season-best. Junior Sean Lehane finished in 48.09 time to win the 100 Back for the third time this season. Tim Wylie finished sixth, while freshman Duncan Johnson placed ninth on his birthday.
Jacob Thulin earned his first victory of his senior season, claiming first in the 100 Fly in 48.32, tying his season-best time set against Auburn and Louisville in November, while fellow senior Troy Tillman (20.32) earned his third sprint victory of the season in the 50 Free.
Similar to how they started the meet, the UT relays claimed No. 1 and No. 2 in the 400 Free Relay in 2:59.64 and 3:00.70. The A team (Tillman, Aberg Ledjstrom, Dagley and Coetzee) finished atop the leaderboard, followed by the second-place B team (Thulin, Romany, Slater, Mills).
