Lady Vols Fall at No. 15 Michigan

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The Lady Vols dropped their first match of the weekend and the season to the No. 15 ranked Michigan Wolverines 6-1.
It was a tough day for the team, but sophomores Laurence Guevremont and Eve Repic were able to find their way to the win column in doubles. The duo defeated Ronit Yurovsky and Sarah Lee, the No. 38 ranked doubles team according to the ITA preseason poll, 6-4.
Seniors Caitlyn Williams and Joanna Henderson were beaten by No. 10 Emina Bektas and Alex Najarian 6-3. Junior Tiffany Tavares and sophomore Victoria Olivarez lost a close match to Mira Ruder-Hook and Annie Wierda 7-6 (6) after leading 6-5 at one point.
In singles, it was sophomore Ashlee Boles who was able to pick up the lone point for the Lady Vols on the day. She defeated Sara Remynse 6-0, 3-6, 1-0 (2) to pick up her fourth win of the season.
Henderson, Repic and Olivarez all lost to their top 40 ranked opponents. Guevremont lost a close match in the third set tiebreaker after winning the second set. Tavares also fell to her opponent in singles.
The Lady Vols will play Detroit at 10 a.m. and Western Michigan at 1 p.m. tomorrow in a doubleheader to close their weekend.
