December 17, 2014 | Women's Tennis
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Almost a month after signing its first three members of the 2015 signing class, Lady Vol tennis has added Kimberly Kermet to the class.
Kermet, a Canada native, was ranked No. 1203 in singles on the 2013 Year-End WTA rankings but has moved up to No. 1079 for 2014 according to ITFtennis.com.
"We are very excited to have Kim join our program," Co-Head Coach Mike Patrick said about his newest player. "As the former number one junior in Canada and having reached 1079 WTA ranking, she will bring a wealth of experience to our program."
Kermet is no stranger to playing against top talent. She has been competing in ITF futures tournaments and challengers since 2011. With this experience, she will be able to help the team sooner rather than later.
"I feel that with her work ethic and the resources we have at Tennessee, the future for her advancement is great," Patrick said about what Kermet brings to the team. "She will have an immediate impact on our program, and I know she is looking forward to coming to Knoxville to reach her potential."
Kermet will join Gabrielle Schuck, Ashley Bongart and Margo Taylor as part of the 2015 signing class. The players plan to join the team in the fall of 2015.
