USA At 6-0 With Gibson, K. Weekly

SURREY, B.C. -- Team USA is the No. 1 seed heading into the playoff round of the 2012 Canadian Open Fastpitch Championship. Tennessee infielder Lauren Gibson and coach Karen Weekly have aided the team to a 6-0 record.
On Saturday, the Eagles posted two more wins. USA clubbed the host Canada 14-2 early in the day. Gibson came on late in the game. She drew a walk and scored a run in the win.
Gibson also played in the night cap, a 4-3 win over Japan to hand them their first loss of the event (4-1). Gibson was a fifth-inning pinch runner and finished the game at second base.
Gibson is hitting .400 in the Canadian Open.
Weekly is serving as an assistant coach for the Eagles. USA has posted a team ERA of 1.32 with 42 strikeouts in 37 innings and just 21 hits allowed. From the plate, USA is hitting .384 with 45 runs scored in six games.
On Sunday, Team USA will host the team that finishes fourth, in the first playoff game at 9:30 p.m. ET. Follow the live stats here.
