WHITEHORSE, Yukon -- Lady Vols' second baseman Lauren Gibson smashed her third home run in two games to help Team USA to a 10-0 win over the Czech Republic on Saturday afternoon in Whitehorse, Yukon. Gibson has four homers in her last three games, dating to the Canadian Open.
The Eagles are now 2-0 in round-robin play.
Gibson is now 5-for-5 in the ISF Softball World Championships and has reached base in all six of her plate appearances as she also walked on Saturday. Gibson also has five RBIs after her two-run round-tripper against the Czechs.
USA pitcher Jordan Taylor tossed a no-hitter over the four innings the game was played before it was ended due to the run-rule. Amelia Jenae-Liles went 3-for-3 for the US.
USA will be back in action on Sunday as the Eagles take on Puerto Rico at 5 p.m. ET.
