Gibson Helps USA To Win In Title IX Game

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Lauren Gibson went 2-for-3 and drove in a run as the USA Softball Women's National Team defeated Canada, 9-1, in the Title IX Celebration Game at the ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City on Saturday.
The game, which aired on ESPN3, marked the TV debut for the squad and Gibson flashed the leather with a diving catch. The play was No. 4 on ESPN.com Top 10 on Saturday night.
Gibson started at second base and drove in Valerie Arioto with the single to rght field in the first.

Next up for the USA Softball Women's National Team is the World Cup of Softball VII presented by Lumber Liquidators, June 27- July 2, also in Oklahoma City. Following the World Cup, the USA Women's National Team is slated to compete July 4-9 at the Canadian Open Fast Pitch International Championship in Surrey, B.C., Canada, and July 13-22 at the International Softball Federation (ISF) Women's World Championship in Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada.
