Senior Ryan Helms starts competition on the 3-meter springboard Friday at the Canada Cup in Montreal.
Helms, who completed his diving career for the Vols two months ago, will be representing Team USA in the competition, part of the FINA Grand Prix series. The preliminaries and the semifinals of the 3-meter springboard are on Friday, while the finals are scheduled as the last event Sunday to complete the meet.
Sophomore Tori Lamp is also diving Friday in the women's platform competition.
As a senior, Helms anchored a strong Vols diving squad throughout his final season. He won the 1-meter and 3-meter titles at the SEC Championships and was voted by conference coaches as the SEC Diver of the Year. He was also the SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Helms is scheduled to dive later this summer on the 3 meter at the U.S. Olympic Trials.
