KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Tennessee baseball head coach Dave Serrano and his staff will get their first chance to work with the entire UT squad starting Thursday as the Volunteers are set to open fall practice with a scout day from 3-7 p.m. at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.
Starting next week, Tennessee will scrimmage every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, weather permitting. UT will also host a fall game against Western Carolina at 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 14.
All practices and scrimmages are open to the public. A complete practice schedule and pitching rotation for each week will be posted on UTSports.com every Monday morning.
The Vols welcome a total of 21 newcomers to the program this fall. They will join 18 returning players, including five position starters and eight pitchers that appeared in at least 10 contests.
Tennessee will open its spring schedule with a three-game series against Northern Illinois, Feb. 17-19, in Knoxville.
