THE UCLA GAME
- This marks the 19th meeting between the two schools dating back to the 1978-79 season. Tennessee is 8-0 when facing UCLA in Los Angeles and Pauley Pavilion on the UCLA campus. The is UT's fi rst visit to the Wooden Center.
- The last time UT traveled to Los Angeles, the #1-ranked Lady Vols committed a season high 23 miscues en route to an 82-70 victory over UCLA led by Candace Parker's 17 points and fi ve boards. Rookie Vicki Baugh tied her (then) career high of 11 points.
- Lady Vol coach Pat Summitt refers to former UCLA women's basketball head coach Billie Moore as her mentor. Moore was (then) Pat Head's 1976 Olympic coach.
- UT's last three games have come against ranked opponents -- Texas, DePaul and Rutgers. Even though UCLA is not currently ranked, the Bruins started out the season ranked in the polls.
