Tonight's starters: freshman Meighan Simmons, senior Angie Bjorklund, sophomore Taber Spani, junior Kelley Cain, junior Shekinna Stricklen.
Tonight's attendance of 17,853 is the largest crowd of the season and the largest crowd for a Lady Vols game at Thompson-Boling Arena since 20,249 watched Tennessee defeat Mississippi State, 72-46, on Feb. 24, 2008.
Today's combined attendance of 39,051 from the men's and women's doubleheader is believed to be a record for an on-campus men's and women's college basketball doubleheader. The Vols drew 21,198 fans for their noon game with the Commodores.
After seven minutes of play, both teams were 2-of-13 from the field.
Throwing in the pass on an out-of-bounds play underneath the Lady Vols' basket, Kamiko Williams tossed the ball off of a Vanderbilt's Stephanie Holzer for an easy layup.
Vanderbilt missed 20 consecutive shots over a 9:23 span in the first half, going without a basket from 16:12 to 6:49.
During that 9:23 stretch, the Lady Vols went on an 18-0 run sparked by a Shekinna Stricklen jumper at the 14:33 mark that made the score 5-5 and capped by a Glory Johnson basket at 7:53 that put UT up, 21-5.
Vanderbilt shot just 7-for-37 from the field in the first half for a shooting percentage of 18.9 percent - the worst by an opponent in the first half this season.
Redshirt junior forward Vicki Baugh checked in one minute into the second half for her first game action since Dec. 30 versus Rutgers.
The Commodores cut Tennessee's lead down to as low as eight points in the second half on a Jasmine Lister three with 1:04 left in the game.
Head Coach Pat Summitt has won 19 of 20 games over Vanderbilt with Melanie Balcomb at the helm of the Commodores.
Tennessee held its seventh straight opponent below 40 percent shooting from the field.

Recorded a season-best 13 boards and tied a season high with four blocks. Shot 1-of-5 for four points.
Sophomore Kamiko Williams
Tennessee improved to 11-0 when Williams scores in double figures.
Her 13 points (5-of-7, 2-of-2 from 3) and eight boards were both one off of season highs.
Freshman Meighan Simmons
Scored 17 points on 6-of-18 shooting. It's her 17th double figure contest of her rookie season.
Senior Angie Bjorklund
Played the entire 40 minutes and scored 14 points on 5-of-13 shooting.
Junior Glory Johnson
Scored 14 points and grabbed nine boards. She leads Tennessee in scoring (14.8 ppg) and rebounding (9.0 rpg) in five SEC games.
