Tennessee sophomore swimmer Ed Walsh earned a bronze medal in the 50-meter freestyle Friday at the British Gas ASA National Championships in Sunderland, England.
Walsh swam to a third-place finish on a 22.99-second time, just .12 seconds out of first place.
"Our entire team and all our coaches are very proud of Ed," head coach John Trembley said. "Obviously, he has a great future at UT and in international competition."
The London native will compete Saturday in the 100-meter freestyle.
