The Tennessee swimming and diving team is set to host the third annual Tennessee Invitational, welcoming Alabama, Kentucky and Virginia Tech to The Hill for the Nov. 18-20 contest.
The Vols, 3-1 (1-0 SEC), are looking to rebound from a slim 151-149 loss at Ohio State and win their third straight Tennessee Invitational.
"We have a great field this year at our invite," head coach John Trembley said. "We will really have a tough contest and an outstanding field of competitors."
The Vols won a nail-biter last year, claiming first place in the very last event of the meet and nipping Kentucky by just four points.
The 2009 finish was a sharp contrast to the first Tennessee Invitational in 2008, in which the Big Orange dominated the competition, winning every single event at the three-day meet.
This year, the youthful Vols look to gain valuable experience in a championship format. The invite setup is similar to what the team will see at the SEC and NCAA championships.
"This meet gives us a chance to simulate a championship environment, which is really helpful for our younger guys," Trembley said. "I think this will be a great test for our guys."
Preliminary rounds begin each day at 10 a.m. and finals will start at 6 p.m.
