The Southeastern Conference named Tennessee senior diver Michael Wright the SEC Diver of the Week, on Tuesday.
Wright broke his own school record with a 414.00-point performance on the one-meter springboard in the Vols win against Louisville. The mark also captures a pool record. He swept the diving competition with a 401.10-point win on the three-meter. Wright ranks No. 1 in the SEC in both the one- and three-meter.
TENNESSEE HITS THE ROAD FOR WEEKEND DUALS
The Vols will travel to Kentucky for a pair of dual-meets on Friday against Cumberlands and open SEC competition on Saturday at Kentucky.
Tennessee heads into the weekend after a season-opening win over Louisville in Knoxville.
The first meeting between Tennessee and Cumberlands occurred in 2008, a 77-52 win in Knoxville.
The Vols boast a 57-year winning streak against the Wildcats, including a thrilling come-from-behind victory at the Tennessee Invitational in 2009. Tennessee has won 36 consecutive meets in the series; the last loss to Kentucky came in 1953.
