The Tennessee men's swimming and diving team will defend their season's 3-0 (2-0 SEC) record when the South Carolina Gamecocks roll into town for Friday's dual-meet. The Vols are undefeated (5-0) on Rocky Top since the opening of the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center last year.
Other perfect records include the Vols' 11-0, all-time mark against the Gamecocks in Knoxville.
"We have had a great fall season," head coach John Trembley said. "We have trained extremely hard and smart and are really focusing on technique. We had some let downs against Kentucky and we are working on correcting those areas for the meet against South Carolina."
The Vols look to stay perfect this season after wins on the road at LSU and Louisville and a home win last Friday against Kentucky.
"We are riding this wave of momentum," Trembley said. "We are pretty fit, pretty healthy and pretty focused. And we are excited to compete against this South Carolina team."
South Carolina enters the meet after a tough loss to in-state rival Clemson. The Gamecocks are perfect in SEC competition with a season-opening win over Kentucky.
Action begins Friday at 1 p.m. with men's and women's one-meter diving. Swimming competition is slated to begin at 2 p.m.
