Persson, Craig Earn SEC Weekly Awards

On Wednesday, the Southeastern Conference named UT???s Jonas Persson the Swimmer-of-the-Week and Brad Craig Freshmen Swimmer-of-the-Week for their efforts in last week???s dual meet against Florida.
Persson merited his second SEC?Swimmer-of-the-Week award by winning both the 100 and 200 freestyles in 44.44 and 1:35.74, respectively. He has qualified for the NCAA Championships in both events, and his 200 freestyle was his third-best this season. Persson also swam on the victorious 400 freestyle relay that finished with a time of 2:58.98.
Craig accepts his first SEC Freshman Swimmer-of-the-Week award this season after winning the 200 breaststroke in 1:59.62 and placing second in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 56.18. His 200 breaststroke was his third-best time on the year. Craig also swam on the third-place 200 medley relay.
Persson, Craig and the rest of the Tennessee Volunteers see their next action when they travel to Tuscaloosa, Ala., for the SEC Championships from Feb. 20-23.
