Vols Prep For SEC Championships

The seventh-ranked Tennessee men???s swimming and diving team travel to Tuscaloosa, Ala., Wednesday for the SEC Championships.
Tennessee recently came off a 160-140 victory over the sixth-ranked Florida Gators in Knoxville, Tenn. This was the team???s first win over the Gators since 2002.
Now the Volunteers begin to look ahead to the 2008 SEC Championships. The Vols finished last year???s competition in fourth-place. The last time a UT swim team won an SEC crown was in 1996. Trembley???s first season in 1989 was the only other SEC championship during his coaching tenure. Ray Bussard ?? UT head coach from 1968-1988?? ?? tallied eight championships, giving the university a total of 10 SEC titles.
The meet will be held in Alabama Aquatic Center, commencing on Wednesday and concluding on Saturday. Prelims begin Wednesday at noon followed by the finals at 6 p.m.
