BOSWELL NAMED TO SEC GOODWORKS TEAM

The SEC named Tennessee captain and All-America Brad Boswell to the Goodworks service team. The senior has participated in a number of service organizations such as Camp Rainbow, Habitat for Humanity, Lift Up America and Toys-for-Tots.
"Boswell has always been an exemplary representative of the University of Tennessee," UT head coach John Trembley said. "I am well aware that, even outside the written résumé, Brad has donated countless hours of 'off-the-record' community service. We are very proud to know Brad Boswell and happy that he has been recognized."
The Rockford, Ill., native has spent over 150 hours with the East Tennessee Children's Hospital Child Life Department. He contributed much time to several reading service projects including the Read-To-Me Program, Read Across America and the National Kidney Foundation Book Drive.
Boswell also volunteers at local Knoxville secondary and elementary schools. He partook as a Walk-a-thon leader at Adrian Burnett Elementary School. He also spoke at the Karns High School Swimming Awards banquet.
The 10-time All-America was nominated for the 2005-2006 NACDA/Coca-Cola Community All-America. His grades also earned him Thornton Student Athletic Center and SEC Winter honor rolls.
ALESI NAMED 2ND-TEAM ALL-SEC
SEC coaches voted for all-conference performers at the championships a week ago in Lexington, Ky. Tennessee junior and All-America Octavio Alesi was named a second-team All-SEC swimmer. Alesi is a sprinting-freestyler who finished the regular season undefeated in all events.
"Alesi has put great work in this year," Trembley said. "He has also matured as a racer. This is a nice honor for him, and I hope it will serve as motivation for the NCAA championships."
The Barinas, Venezuela, native mounted 20 first-place finishes this season with half of those victories collected against top-25 opponents such as 8th-ranked Florida, 9th-ranked Georgia and 16th-ranked Virginia. The junior qualified for NCAA B-Cut in the 50 freestyle, 100 Freestyle, 200 Freestyle Relay, 400 Freestyle Relay and 800 Freestyle Relay. He qualified for NCAA A-Cut in the 100 butterfly, 200 medley relay and 400 medley relay.
