Craig Wins SEC Fr. Swimmer of the Week Award
November 21, 2007 | Men's Swimming & Diving
The Southeastern Conference named UT swimmer Brad Craig the Freshman Swimmer of the Week on Tuesday. This weekly-award was credited to Craig after he helped the Vols beat the Virginia Cavaliers last week in Charlottesville, Va.
Craig placed first in the 200 breaststroke (56.05), second in the 100 Breaststroke (56.05) and third in the 400 I.M. (4:03.34). He also helped the 200 medley relay to a first-place finish (1:29.25).
His 100 yard time, a season best, put him as the fourth-overall breaststroker in the SEC. He currently ranks first in the 200 breaststroke for his 2:00.36 finish against Auburn on Nov. 2.
Next, Craig and the Vols travel to Austin, Texas, for the Texas Invitational. The meet lasts from Nov. 30 to Dec. 2 and will include premier collegiate swimming programs such as No. 1 Texas, No. 3 Stanford and No. 4 Arizona.
