Helton to Play in Fifth Consecutive MLB All-Star Game

Former Tennessee All-America Todd Helton will be making his fifth consecutive trip to Major League Baseball's annual All-Star Game July 13 in Houston.
Helton was selected as a reserve on the National League team for the 75th annual midsummer classic at Minute Maid Park. He will be the lone Rockies' player on this year's NL roster.
Helton's .352 batting average is just two points behind NL leader Barry Bonds, while his .467 on-base percentage also ranks second to Bonds (.620).
Helton, who was the college player of the year in 1995 in leading the Vols to the College World Series, was hitting .311. Since then, Helton has hit .417 (43-for-103). He entered this season with a .337 career average.
