Woodlands, Texas--Tennessee freshman diver Jevon Tarantino finished 14th amidst the world's top divers Thursday at the FINA/SPEEDO Diving Grand Prix in Woodlands, Texas.
Tarantino, finishing with 393.90 points, missed moving on to the semifinals by just 15 points. The top 12 individuals in the preliminary round advanced.
"Jevon dove relatively steady (Thursday) in a very strong world-class field," UT diving coach Dave Parrington said. "It was an all-around positve experience."
Next up for the Vol divers are the U.S. Olympic Trials June 7-13 in St. Peters, Mo. Both Junior Phillip Jones and Tarantino have qualified for the trials.
