ATLANTA - Tennessee's swimming team was well represented Saturday at the 35th Annual Dixie Classic in Atlanta, Ga., as Tyler Gustafson and Bryan Goldberg took the gold and silver, respectively, in the 100-meter freestyle.
"This sets up [Tyler and Bryan] impressively for the U.S. Olympic Trials," UT head coach John Trembley said. "These performances were arguably the best from Tennessee Volunteers in quite some time."
Gustafson took the gold in an impressive 52.63, with Goldberg on his heels in a fast 53.28.
The meet is being contested in long-course meters and has a strong field that includes swimmers from Southeastern Conference powers Auburn, Florida and Georgia and many of the top American club teams.
Both Vols swim against a star-studded field tomorrow in the 200-meter freestyle.
