KNOXVILLE-- The 13th-ranked Tennessee men's swimming and diving team will travel to North Carolina State Sunday in Raleigh, N.C. to end its regular season.
This will be the teams' first meeting since 1997 and the eighth since the series began in 1970.
"We are facing a great old rival," head coach John Trembley said. "They, too, are tradition-steeped with great swimmers and divers. We are swimming in an unusual format which will be very entertaining for our athletes, coaches and spectators."
Junior Phillip Jones will try to keep his winning streak alive this week. Jones has won the 3-meter diving competion in the last two meets.
Seniors Andrew Bree and Raymond Rosal along with sophomores Bryan Goldberg and Casey Dauw will be heading to the USS Spring Nationals in Orlando, Fla. Feb. 10-14. The team's next action is at the SEC Championships in Athens, Ga. Feb. 25-28.
