The No. 11 Tennessee men's swimming team heads to Las Vegas this weekend for the 19th annual UNLV Winter Invitational Dec. 18-20 at the Buchanan Natatorium.
"We are coming off a very successful fall campaign, coming out undefeated in dual-meets with some great training behind us," UT head coach John Trembley said. "We depart for Las Vegas for a weeklong training camp that includes three days of competition against many teams we've never seen in the history of Tennessee."
Meet participants include: Colorado School of Mines, Pacific, UC Santa Barbara, UC Davis, Cal State Bakersfield, Cal State Northridge, San Jose State, San Diego State, La Verne, Wyoming and host UNLV.
"While the competition should be spirited, our team will be very fatigued from travel, weight training, dry-land training and intense water work," Trembley added. "The work should give us a good measure of how we will perform during championship season and get us more competition ready.
"The team members are looking forward to the training, some good food and different scenery than Knoxville during this weeklong training camp."
The meet opens with preliminaries each day at 10 a.m. Pacific time, with finals following at 5:30 p.m.
