The Tennessee baseball coaching staff's annual Christmas Camps are quickly approaching. This year's camps take place Dec. 27-28 and Dec. 29-30.
Vols head coach Rod Delmonico, assistant coaches Larry Simcox and Mike Bell, as well as many other top college and high school coaches from across the Southeast will host a camp for players ages 7-12 from Dec. 27-28 and a camp for players ages 13-2005 seniors from Dec. 29-30.
Joining the Tennessee Baseball Christmas Camps staff again this year is well-known instructor Jim Lefebvre. A former manager of the Seattle Mariners and the Chicago Cubs, Lefebvre spent the 2002 season as the hitting instructor for the Cincinnati Reds. He has served in the same capacity for the Oakland A's and the Milwaukee Brewers. Lefebvre has also worked as a personal hitting coach for major league greats such as Mark McGwire, Sammy Sosa, Ken Griffey Jr. and Jose Canseco.
The camp cost is $160 per camper. Discounts are offered at $145 per camper for groups of five or more and $135 per camper for groups of 10 or more. Camp registration begins Monday, Dec. 27 and Wednesday, Dec. 29 at 8 a.m., on the East upper level of Stokely Athletics Center.
Registration forms can be obtained by calling the Tennessee baseball office at (865) 974-2057 and can also be completed online.
Tennessee open its 2005 season Feb. 11 vs. Texas A&M at the 2005 Minute Maid Classic in Houston. The Vols' home opener is Feb. 18 vs. Bethune-Cookman.
