2003-04 Schedule| Q & A with Head Coach John Trembley
The 2003-04 season focuses on a balanced attack featuring eight returning All-Americas and 10 talented freshmen. Led by seniors Andrew Bree, Evan Fischer, Jamie Graves, Evan Nylander, and Raymond Rosal, the Vols will navigate a tough road-heavy schedule. The burden will not be as difficult thanks to their supporting cast. Casey Dauw, Bryan Goldberg, Phillip Jones, and Jason Thomas round out the returning All-Americas from last season. These four Vols bring the leadership and experience this young squad needs.
Sprint Freestyle
Senior Raymond Rosal leads this year's sprint group. Last season, he turned in times of 20.19 and 44.92. Sophomore Bryan Goldberg adds depth to the group with the top returning time of 44.74 in the 100. Tyler Gustafson will look to score some points this season with a returning time of 45.18. Bradley Duryea, Casey Dauw, Bradley Boswell, Andrew Engle, Peter McKinnis and Chris Wary also look to contribute for the Vols.
"It will be a different year at SECs, of course, with Olympic Trials in the back of all our minds. We have several Americans, as well as international competitors, who must keep that focus intact. The NCAA Championships this year is short course meters, which will change our training protocol a bit. We expect to be fighting for individual, team titles, relay titles and the championship. Battles are always on our immediate list of expectations. " |
