Knoxville, Tenn. -- Dennis Gomez slugged his team-leading fifth home run and Hunter Rigsby tripled twice as the Tennessee Volunteers pounded out 18 hits en route to their eighth consecutive non-conference game victory, 15-7, over the East Tennessee State Buccaneers at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.
Trailing 3-0, the Volunteers (19-20) cut into the lead with a run in the second, before breaking it open with four runs in the fourth and fifth innings, and adding three runs in each of the sixth and seventh innings.
Walter Sevilla went 4-for-5 with a triple as the Vols laced three in the game.
Jay Sadlowe (2-4) struck out five in five innings for the win, allowing four runs on seven hits. Jackson Simerly (1-3) took the loss, allowing eight runs (six earned) on nine hits in 4 2/3 innings.

The Bucs bolted out a 3-0 lead in the second on a two-run double by Moore and a ground out in the second that scored John Gorton who tripled to lead off the inning.
The Vols plated a single run in the bottom of the second as Gomez singled home Matt Sternberg, before taking a 5-3 lead in the fourth. Ryan Moffett started the frame with a base hit and advanced to third on Hal Bibee's single to right. Moffett scored on Brandon Hopkins' sacrifice bunt. Then after a fly out and walk to Gomez that loaded the bases, Chad LeGate delivered a two-run single while Gomez later scored on a sacrifice fly for a 5-3 lead.
After ETSU cut the lead to 5-4 in the top of fifth, Tennessee broke the game open in the bottom of the inning for a 9-4 lead. A two-run home run by Gomez capped the four-run inning as the two earlier runs scored on a sacrifice fly and a Sternberg double.
A three-run sixth extended the lead to 12-4. Hunter Rigsby began the scoring on a wild pitch after tripling to center to lead off the frame. Jordan Czarniecki walked and scored on Sevilla's triple, while Sevilla plated on a single by Moffett.
After the Bucs added two in the seventh, Rigsby's two-run triple highlighted a three-run inning take made it 15-6 before ETSU added the final run in the ninth.
