Tennessee Baseball Banquet Set For Jan. 24

Tennessee's 2002 baseball season kicks off with its annual banquet Jan. 24, 2002 at Thompson-Boling Arena.

Head coach Rod Delmonico's Vols are coming off the school's third College World Series appearance last June, and second in six years under Delmonico. Tennessee recorded a 48-20 mark a year ago and return 14 lettermen from last season's club.

Former major league pitching star Tommy John is the featured speaker. Delmonico will preview this year's edition of the Vols who open the 2002 campaign with a three-game series at Miami (Fla.) Feb. 1-3. UT travels to Arizona State Feb. 8-10 before the season opener at Lindsey Nelson Stadium against Bowling Green Feb. 15.
